Man faces charges of sexual assault

Anchorage Police Department detectives Sunday arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his Anchorage home.

Harold Atchak, 21, faces three charges of sexual assault in the first degree, according to police. Police say Atchak sexually assaulted a woman visiting his home on Wright Street in East Anchorage early Sunday morning.

The woman had known Atchak for several years, she told police, but had never been in a relationship with him.

"He started assaulting her and he kept telling her no and wouldn't stop," said APD spokesman Lt. Dave Parker.

He is being held without bail at Anchorage jail and is scheduled for arraignment Monday.
