Spenard Jazz Fest under way

The annual Spenard Jazz Fest is under way through Saturday. Here are a few of the highlights.

Today: Melissa Bledsoe Band Jazz Brunch, noon- 2 p.m., Organic Oasis, $5 suggested donation

Monday: After Dark Jazz Jam, 9 p.m., Tap Root, free

Tuesday: Jazz on Film, 7 p.m., Out North, $15

Wednesday: Art Party and Lounge, 6 p.m.-late, The Anchor Pub, free

Thursday: Live and Moving -- Poets in Full Meter, with poets, dancers and musicians, 7 p.m., Organic Oasis, $15

Friday: Originals (Day 1), original work by Joe Craig, Yngvil Vatn Guttu and Rick Zelinsky, 7 p.m. Organic Oasis, $15

• Jazz at the Market, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Spenard Farmer's Market, free

• Altered Arts -- Jazzy Mural Painting, the annual mural painting at Blaines accompanied by live jazz, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Blaines Art Supply, free

• Originals (Day 2), original work by Alex Cruver Trio, Elite 9, Lee Pulliam, John Damberg, Tyler Desjarlais and Phil Knowlton, 4 p.m.-late, Organic Oasis, $15
