St. Michael man brought to Anchorage after stabbing

A St. Michael man was medevacked to Anchorage after his ex-girlfriend allegedly stabbed him in the back during an argument Saturday, according to an Alaska State Troopers dispatch.

Paula Myomick, 40, was arguing with her former boyfriend when she allegedly stabbed him in the back with a knife, according to troopers.

"They'd been drinking together" said trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen.

He was transported to the Alaska Native Medical Center. His injuries were not life threatning, Ipsen said.

Troopers said Myomick is at Anvil Mountain Correctional Center in Nome and is expected to be charged with first degree assault.

St. Michael is a village of about 360 people on Norton Sound in Western Alaska.
