A New Mexico man trying to fly with heroin and methamphetamine from Anchorage to Cordova was arrested Thursday while waiting for his flight, Alaska State Troopers said.
Investigators approached Enrique Lino, a 21-year-old resident of Las Cruces, N.M., at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and told him he was being detained while they applied for a search warrant, troopers said. Lino ran, then resisted arrest, according to a trooper dispatch posted online.
After getting their search warrant, the investigators found about two ounces of black tar heroin and one-and-a-half ounces of meth in Lino's bag, troopers said.
In Anchorage, the drugs have a street value of roughly $29,000, troopers said.
Lino was jailed and held on $50,000 cash bail.
