Wine of the week: 2010 Chateau Ste. Michelle Eroica

I'm super picky when it comes to riesling, but the 2010 Chateau Ste. Michelle Eroica is spectacular! Years ago Germany's riesling expert, Ernie Loosen, began working with Bob Bertheau at Chateau Ste. Michelle in a collaboration that created Eroica, proving that Washington state can indeed produce world class riesling. The wine hosts a blazing nose of fruit and honeysuckle. The mouth is delicious, juicy, tangy and very clean, and it lifts off the palate with amazing clarity. Serve it up with some fantastic Alaska seafood. Costs about $24.
