Starter Scott Grist pitched seven sweet, scoreless innings for the Anchorage Bucs on Friday night.

His bullpen, however, contributed to a sour ending for the home team at Mulcahy Stadium.

The Fairbanks Goldpanners scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning almost entirely off the largesse of the Bucs bullpen to rack a 4-3 victory that sent the Bucs (13-11, 9-9 ABL) to their season-worst fourth straight loss.

Bucs reliever Andrew Ferriera opened the eighth with the Bucs leading 3-0 and promptly a hit batter, walked two others and unleashed a wild pitch that cut the lead to 3-1 and brought in Braden Shipley from the bullpen.

Shipley surrendered a two-run single to Casey Munoz, who later scored on Shipley's wild pitch to give Fairbanks a 4-3 lead. Bucs pitchers walked three, hit one and uncorked three wild pitches in the inning.

Kevin Casey moved from second base to the mound in the ninth and earned the save for the Panners (13-10, 7-9 ABL).

Anchorage's Zach Mathieu hit a two-run home run in the second and scored on Drake Roberts' squeeze bunt in the seventh.

In Kenai, the Peninsula Oilers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth to take a 5-4 victory over the Chugiak Chinooks.

Trailing 4-3, the Oilers used two walks and a throwing error to set themselves up for Josh Miller's RBI infield single and Alex Staehely's RBI fielder's choice.

Trey Richardson drove in two runs for the Oilers and Kristopher Kwak drove in two runs for the Chinooks.
