Chalmers bringing NBA exhibition to Alaska

While his famous teammates will be busy with other things -- LeBron James will be playing in a little tournament in London and Dwyane Wade will be recovering from knee surgery -- Mario Chalmers will return home next month to headline an NBA all-star game at Sullivan Arena.

Chalmers, a starter for the NBA champion Miami Heat, will be the star attraction at the Aug. 3 Mario Chalmers All-Pro Charity Game.

No word yet on who will play in the game other than Chalmers, a former Bartlett High star. A spokesman for KTUU, which is co-promoting the event, said a lineup will be finalized Monday and will include current and perhaps former NBA players.

Tickets range from $26.50 to $151.50 plus outlet fees, according to ticketmaster.com. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday at ktuu.com, where they will also be available Thursday. Beginning Friday, tickets will be available at ticketmaster.com and the Sullivan Arena box office.

The game is an NBA-sanctioned event and a fundraiser for the Mario V. Chalmers Foundation, the KTUU spokesman said.
