Wine of the week: 2011 Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc-Viognier

The 2011 Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc-Viognier is the quintessential wine of summer. It goes with just about everything and makes the most of our short season. Chenin blanc can be wonderful, but it never got a good rap over here in the states. Pine Ridge kicks it up a notch with the addition of viognier, which adds a bit of body and honeysuckle aromatics. Pale white with delicate citrus tones, it's perfect for afternoon antipasti and grilled shrimp. Costs about $13.
