NY Times: 'Not exactly Palin's Alaska' in 2012 politics

The New York Times' FiveThirtyEight "political calculus" blog -- which entertains political junkies by mashing up poll results, economics and demographics to gauge U.S. voters' mood -- is profiling each state as part of its "Presidential Geography" series. Today it's Alaska's turn, and readers who might have lost track of us since Sarah Palin's heyday are reminded that "the state's political instincts are more nuanced and idiosyncratic than the partisan image of its most famous Republican governor."

No need for the GOP to worry, though: Alaska is still expected to fall solidly behind Mitt Romney in the November election.
