Worth noting

The Anchorage Glacier Pilots continued to play well since locking up first place in the ABL last week. They used home runs from Tyler Spoon and Jordan Luplow on Sunday to help defeat the Mat-Su Miners 5-3 at Hermon Brothers Field.

Spoon's home run, a two-run bomb that broke a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning, increased his league-high total to 10.

Luplow blasted a solo shot later in the same inning to put the Pilots up 5-2.

Pilots starter Trey Teakell struck out four over six innings to earn the win.

Clint Freeman and Ian Miller each finished with three hits for the Miners, a Branden Berry single plating Miller for the Miners' final run in the seventh inning.

The Peninsula Oilers took advantage of two first-inning errors by the Anchorage Bucs, scoring three runs on three consecutive hits to set up a 4-2 win at Seymour Memorial Park.

The Oilers' Trey Richardson (4 for 4) scored a run and drove in another during the first-inning rally. Then, after the Bucs narrowed the lead to 3-2 in the top of the third, Richardson provided an RBI single in the bottom of the inning to stretch the Oilers' lead back to two runs.

Garrett Stubbs notched two hits and two runs for the Oilers, with Jordan Brink's two hits leading the way for the Bucs.
