Air Force major arrested on child pornography charges

An Air Force major stationed at Joint Base Elemendorf-Richardson was arrested Thursday on charges of distributing and possessing child pornography.

Peter Christopher Davis, 34, is accused of digitally sending images of the sexual exploitation of children to Alaska State Troopers working undercover starting in February of 2012. Anchorage Police Department investigators allegedly later received additional child pornography images from Davis.

Members of the Alaska Internet Crimes Against Children task force including the AST, APD and the Air Force Office of Special Investigation searched the man's home and found computers and digital devices containing hundreds of additional illegal images, according to a police.

JBER spokesman John Pennell said Davis is the assistant director of operations for the 3rd Operations Support Squadron. He joined the Air Force in August of 2001 and has been stationed in Alaska since May of 2010.

He is set to appear in court Friday at the Anchorage Jail, where he is being held.
