Army jazz band to perform in Wasilla

United States Army Field Band

The United States Army's 19-piece big band jazz ensemble, the Jazz Ambassadors, will give its first-ever performance in Wasilla at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Wasilla High School gym. The concert is free but advance tickets are required. They are available online.

The musicians are chosen in a rigorous audition process and represent the cream of their profession. The band's repertoire includes swing, Latin, Dixieland, contemporary jazz and patriotic selections. The band is based in Fort Meade, Md., near Washington, D.C., and regularly performs for official events in the nation's capital.
