Radio newsman with 22 years covering Legislature retires

A voice long familiar to fans of public radio in Alaska is going into retirement. Dave Donaldson, the Alaska Public Radio Network's capital correspondent, came to Alaska in 1991 intending to try it for a year. In an interview with APRN's Lori Townsend, he talks about why his plans changed. One reason, he said, was the nature of Alaska politics, with likable lawmakers converging on Juneau, largely motivated by the simple desire to take care of their tiny, far-flung communities.
