Troopers, police looking for Valley runaways

Anchorage police and Alaska State Troopers are on the lookout for two 14-year-olds who ran away from their homes in Wasilla on Tuesday.

Josie Rainbow Parker is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 140 pounds, according to a flyer sent out by troopers. She has dark brown hair and blue eyes. William Mathieu is 5 feet 10 inches tall and also weighs about 140 pounds. His hair is reddish and his eyes are hazel.

The two ran away together from their homes in the Valley. They made it to Anchorage and were checking in at Covenant House, a shelter for runaways and young adults in downtown Anchorage, trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said in an e-mail.

The Anchorage Police Department was notified, and police called their parents. One of their parents came to Covenant House and while the parent was talking to police, the kids bolted, Peters said. A search of the area didn't locate them.

The children are loved and missed by their families, the flyer says.

Anyone who spots them should call Anchorage police at 786-8900.
