Voices carry

Headlined this year by The Exchange, the 19th annual A Capella Festivella takes place Thursday as part of UAA's homecoming week. The group performed on NBC's "The Sing Off," and opening for them is the UAA Glee Club: 7:30 p.m., Wendy Williamson Auditorium, $22 advance, $26 door. $16 and $21 for UAA faculty, staff and alumni, $5 and $10 for students.

Comedian Hannibal Buress has appeared on late-night shows like "The Late Show with David Letterman" and "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," and he co-hosts "The Eric Andre Show" on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Going green

A familiar ogre has made the jump from the big screen to the stage, and the Broadway show "Shrek the Musical" has made its way to Anchorage. The musical opens 8 p.m. Friday at Atwood Concert Hall and runs through Sunday, Oct. 14. Check centertix.net for a full list of show times. Tickets are $40-$77, depending on the day.
