Hilltop Alpine Race Team, 4:30-7:30 p.m., Hilltop Chalet at Hilltop Ski Area, 7014 Abbott Roadd. Hilltop is now offering an Alpine Race program. This is a competitive ski team that will be racing in the Youth Ski League against other youth ski teams from the Anchorage area. The program is for ages 7-13, who are intermediate to advanced skiers. Program includes: professional coaching by experienced racers, pre-season dryland training, running gates, video analysis of students skiing, and 3 hour practices twice a week. Bonny Sosa Tuesday Night Running Race Series, 5:30-8:15 p.m. East High School, 4025 E. Northern Lights Blvd. Hosted by Anchorage Parks and Recreation;, locations change each week. Choose the Munchkin League for youths under 12 or those young at heart; Farm League for recreational runners; or the Lightning League for competitive runners. USATF-Alaska Association Cross-Country Championships, 4-6:30 p.m., Anchorage Christian Schools, 6401 E. Northern Lights Blvd. Open to all ages. USA Track and Field Alaska Championships for ages 18 and under, Open and Masters for ages 30 and older, a 3K course for ages 12 and under, and 5K for all others. From the Local to the Global- It Goes with the Flow, 5:30-8:30 p.m., BP Energy Center, 1014 Energy Court. Anchorage Waterways Council's Annual Meeting will focus on the impacts to the freshwater and marine habitats by our everyday actions and habits. Speakers will discuss local problems, toxic effects of plastics and cigarette butts in water, the impacts on Alaska's coast, the mechanism for this local to global action, and how each of us can help reduce the problem. Knee-High Naturalists Program, 11 a.m.-noon, Eagle River Nature Center, 32750 Eagle River Road. Ten pre-registered pre-schoolers ages 3-5 and parents can join the Knee-High Naturalist Program, which offers guided nature exploration. Dress for the outdoors, and bring a snack/lunch to join fellow Kneehighs afterwards. Crafts and toys are available for the half-hour before the program starts.
