Heather Green rips 42 kills to help Grace Christian volleyball team rally past ACS

Heather Green pounded 42 kills for Grace Christian to help the Grizzlies survive a two-set deficit and remain undefeated in league play with a thrilling five-set win over crosstown rival Anchorage Christian. The Grizzlies won the Region III match 22-25, 20-25, 25-15, 25-14, 15-13.

Green, who also had a team-high 15 digs, led a Grace attack that posted a .333 hitting percentage.

Kelsea Winkle added 11 kills and seven digs and Nicole Weisenfelder had 12 kills and 16 assists for Grace, which improved to 7-0 in conference play and 11-1 overall.

Dimond 3, South 0

Dimond's Leah Swiss and Aaliyah Lewis combined for 43 digs while giving a big crowd at Dimond something to cheer about Tuesday when the Lynx swept defending state volleyball champion South 25-17, 25-13, 25-12.

Swiss finished the Cook Inlet Conference match with nine kills and 23 digs. Tatyana Johnson and Janelle Feller each added six kills and Feller chipped in 13 assists to go along with 11 from Anastasia Lavern-Tosi.

Mikayla Sweet (six kills, two blocks) and Holly Morehouse (eight kills, three blocks) led South, which got 22 assists from Kayla Sims.

Bartlett 3, Service 0

Celeste Manumalena's six blocks and four aces helped power Bartlett past Service 25-22, 25-14, 25-18 Tuesday in a Cook Inlet Conference volleyball match at Bartlett.

Raven Agraviador chipped in four aces and three kills for the Golden Bears, who got five kills from Autumn Plews and seven digs from Kayla Panzarella.

Morgan Christy ripped nine kills and Taleigh Talmadge added eight for Service.

West 3, East 0

Nya Carter and Rita Dexter each slammed eight kills Tuesday in West's 25-33, 29-27, 25-11 CIC victory over East.

Diana Lobontiu served six aces and Jamie Bingham got 10 digs for the Eagles, who got 17 assists from Nikki Meyers and 13 from Jenn Evans.

East's Taria Page led all hitters with 12 kills, and Nadia Frank added seven kills and Mafi Makihele dished out 34 assists for the T-birds.

Chugiak 3, Eagle River 1

Rachel Gregg racked up 11 kills and eight blocks to spark Chugiak's 25-23, 25-19 10-25, 26-24 CIC victory over Eagle River on Tuesday.

Kirsten Veech came up with 25 digs and Elle Gray added five kills for the host Mustangs.

Eagle River got 13 kills and four blocks from Gabbi LeCates. Lucy Thomas added 21 digs and Alexa Walker handed out 38 assists.
