Letter: Bell's stand proves puzzling

In an interview on Bob Bell's campaign for state Senate (Oct. 3, ADN), "Bell rejected any notion that he would be influenced by money …"

That's a surprising turnaround. At two meetings of a group Bob Bell organized to subvert the Spenard Road improvements, he made clear that the way to stop the project was to influence politicians and that the way to influence them is to give as much to their campaigns as possible. His message was clearly that influence is bought. I was shocked at the time hearing this from a former Assemblyman. Now he's running again. This worries me.
