Mr. Harold Law is under the false assumption that there is no one to “take care of the crack and alcohol syndrome babies … and raise them on their own nickel.” (Letters, Oct. 10)
I assure Mr. Law there are more homes than babies available, as we personally would take such and know many others that would also. “No one wants them” is not a justification for killing them.
Also, Ms. Anne Terry (Oct. 12) states the answer to lowering the abortion rate is tax-payer funded birth control for “low income women.” Abortion affects all social classes. Perhaps we should be teaching personal responsibility, integrity, and abstinence instead. Maybe then we might slow the rate at which we are becoming a socialist society.
