Obama tops Romney in Alaska campaign donations

Despite the certainty that Mitt Romney will get Alaska's electoral votes, President Obama has raised more money -- and from more donors -- than Romney in the state, reports the Alaska Public Radio Network.

Alaska has not supported a Democratic candidate in the presidential race since Lyndon Johnson’s landslide re-election in 1964. So it may come as a surprise that Mr. Obama has ... more donors in the state than Mr. Romney does – 575 to 392.

And he’s outraising his challenger by dollar amount too.

Shelia Krumholz is the executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics.  She says as of October 1, Mr. Obama had raised $434,000 in Alaska. That’s $150,000 more than Mr. Romney.

Obama outraised John McCain during the 2008 presidential campaign too. Read more at AlaskaPublic.org: Obama raises more Alaska money than Romney
