New Warren Miller winter sports film screens at Atwood

Has Anchorage's whiter shade of winter got you itching to grab your skis or snowboard? On cue, Warren Miller's "Flow State" is set to screen this weekend at the Atwood Concert Hall. The adventure film includes heli-skiing footage shot in Cordova, featuring runs by Kevin Quinn, Mitch Tölderer and World Cup racer Travis Ganong. Gold medalist Ted Ligerty and racer-turned-freeskier Marcus Caston also tackle the Chugach Range backcountry, while other scenes were shot from Norway to Utah to Japan and beyond.

The 63rd annual winter sports film from Warren Miller Entertainment also boasts a soundtrack that includes tunes by M.I.A., Battles, Explosions in the Sky, The Hives, We Were Promised Jetpacks, M83, Pretty Lights and more.

The movie screens 7 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $16, available at or REI. Purchase 10 or more and get a $2 discount for each.
