Small quake shakes Southcentral

A small earthquake centered northwest of Anchorage shook Southcentral Alaska about 2 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center.

The earthquake registered a preliminary magnitude of 4.24, the center said on its website. Initial measurements showed the quake's epicenter 28 miles southwest of Willow and 34 miles northwest of Anchorage. Its depth was 42 miles, according to the earthquake information center.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the earthquake.
