Ashley Hamilton notched a double-double and Anthony Ireland led all scorers with 23 points to help Loyola Marymount beat Texas State 78-63 in a consolation game of the Great Alaska Shootout on Friday at Sullivan Arena.
Ayodeji Egbeyemi scored 18 for Loyola Marymount on 7 of 11 shooting, and he also led the team with three steals and two blocks. Hamilton finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds, six offensive.
Despite shooting 33.3 percent in the first half, Loyola Marymount forged a 33-28 lead before the break. The Lions hit better than 57 percent of their shots in the second half to extend the lead.
Three players scored in double figures for Texas State, which was limited to 34.4 percent shooting for the game. Vonn Jones led the way with 14 points, Matt Staff hit for 11 and Corey Stern chipped in 10. Reid Koenen contributed nine points and eight rebounds for the Bobcats.
