GIRLS PREP HOCKEY
Dimond-West 1, Service-East 0
A goal from Brandi Muller was all the Dimond-West girls hockey team needed Tuesday to secure a 1-0 win over Service-East in a Cook Inlet Conference game at Ben Boeke Arena.
Muller scored her goal in the first period on an assist from Alexandra Brodie. Dimond-West goalie Lily Lewis made 19 saves in the shutout.
Mat-Su 5, Chugiak-Eagle River 3
Keanna Hawk scored Mat-Su's last two goals Tuesday in a 5-3 girls hockey win over Chugiak-Eagle River at the McDonald Center.
Sarah Shaw, Amanda Engan and Taylor Buness also scored for Mat-Su, with goalie Emma Denny making 13 saves.
Samantha Perez scored twice for Chugiak-Eagle River in the second period. Morgan Elledge's first-period goal put Chugiak-Eagle River on the board first, with Autumn Sperry dishing the first of her two assists on the early score.
BOYS PREP HOCKEY
South 12, Bartlett 0
Three South hockey players notched two goals each Tuesday, and the Wolverines shutout Bartlett 12-0 in a Cook Inlet Conference game at Ben Boeke Arena.
Cameron Klatt scored the first and last of six first-period goals for South, which unleashed 61 shots. Steven Orizotti and Jared Cruz were the other South players to score twice, and South goalie Nathan Wright made five saves.
Eagle River 4, Colony 1
Sparked by first-period goals by Hunter Gally and Carter Jesiel, Eagle River cruised to a 4-1 nonconference boys hockey win over Colony on Tuesday at the McDonald Center.
Gally put the Wolves on the board in the fourth minute and Jesiel added his goal in the sixth minute. George Platt put Eagle River up 3-0 early in the second period, and Brett Wood added a late third-period score.
Logan Sanders racked Colony's lone goal early in the third period.
