PREP WRESTLING

Service 63, East 21

Defending state champion Service rolled past host East 63-21 in a Cook Inlet Conference dual wrestling meet Wednesday. The unusual meet included seven forfeits by East, which chose to sit some of its wrestlers.

"Almost all their starters were out of the lineup," Service coach Luke Duffy said. "I've never seen anything like that. It was just a really strange event."

Matches were held in eight weight classes, with each team winning four.

Three of Service's top wrestlers missed the meet with injuries, yet the Cougars still fielded a full lineup. Duffy said he didn't know why East failed to field a full team.
