Letter: Cook Inlet gas usage raises questions

Article 8, Section 2 of the Alaska State Constitution states: "The legislature shall provide for the utilization, development, and conservation of all natural resources belonging to the State including land and waters for the maximum benefit of the people."

So should we now assume freezing in the dark provides a "maximum benefit of the people?"

If not, and if the old adage "success has a thousand fathers while failure is an orphan" is true, who among our legislators is willing to claim this orphan born from failure to utilize, develop and conserve the state's natural gas resources in Cook Inlet?
