Local musicians book birthday show at senior center

'52 FORD

We post a lot of entries about upcoming rock concerts, usually in places like Bear Tooth or Koot's or Wendy Williamson or one of the bars downtown. If memory serves, this is the first about one at the Anchorage Senior Activity Center.

Singers, songwriters and sidemen Matt Hammer, Hurricane Dave, Michael Faubion and Stu Schulman booked the show together because of something each has in common: They were all born in 1952. To mark their 60th year, the four local musicians formed '52 FORD (Funky Old Rockin' Dudes).

Each will perform separately and as a band backed by Barry Billings, Doug Brown, Bob Horwitz, Billy Neumeister, Bob Parsons and Tall Paul Paslay, running through sets of classic rock 'n' roll, blues and country.

When: 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9
Where: Anchorage Senior Activity Center
Tickets: Free, donations accepted
