Chugiak 8, Bartlett 5

Chugiak's Kris Tomazevic notched four goals in a boys hockey game Tuesday, and the Mustangs put together a five-goal third period to run away with an 8-5 Cook Inlet Conference win over Bartlett at Ben Boeke Arena.

Bartlett, which got a hat trick from Joel Johnson, carried a 2-1 lead into the second period, but goals from Geramy Hanson and Tomazevic put Chugiak in front 3-2 going into the second intermission.

Tomazevic put the Mustangs up 4-2 early in the third period and they led 6-2 before Johnson struck for his second goal.

Chance Aquino, who scored twice for the Golden Bears, cut the lead to 6-4 when he scored with more than three minutes remaining.

Chugiak's Taylor Garner scored the game's first goal, and Tyler Painter added a pair of goals for the Mustangs.

Eagle River 4, East 3, OT

Blake Halfpenny's overtime goal lifted Eagle River to a 4-3 win over East in a CIC boys hockey game Tuesday at the McDonald Center.

George Platt and Carter Jesiel each picked up their second assists on the game-winning goal, which went in with 5:19 remaining in the eight-minute overtime period.

East held a 3-2 lead after two periods, getting goals from Trey Segers, Justin Beverlin and Tristan Phillips. Grant knotted it 3-3 with a score early in the third, adding to a pair of second-period goals by Chugiak's Brett Wood.

Eagle River outshot East 31-15, with Justin Lopez playing the entire game in goal for the Wolves.

Service-East 8, Mat-Su 0

The Service-East girls hockey team scored three goals in each of the first two periods Tuesday and went on to blank Mat-Su 8-0 in a nonconference game at Ben Boeke Arena.

Alexandra Ellis, Kerianne Hansen and Felila Manu each racked two goals. Ellis opened the scoring midway through the first period and notched the team's fourth goal early in the second.

Katy Martin and Heather Merkouris each contributed goals and Manu assisted Hansen on the team's second goal.
