JBER warns range neighbors may hear gunfire, explosions during training

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson officials say neighbors of base ranges may hear small explosions during a planned training exercise today through Dec. 12.

Soldiers from Fort Wainwright's 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team will be using small-arms fire as well as larger-caliber weapons during the exercises at JBER, officials said in a release Tuesday.

For information on training noise, call the U.S. Army Alaska Public Affairs Office at 384-1542.
