UAA's Anna Berecz and Andreas Adde both continued to dominate Saturday in the Alaska Best Water FIS slalom series at Alyeska Ski Resort. Berecz won the women's race for the third straight day, and Adde topped the men for the second straight day.
UAA's Vanessa Berther kept things interesting in the women's race by laying down the day's fastest time on the second run, but Berecz turned in the best two-run total time by 1.4 seconds, finishing in 1 minutes, 35.48 seconds. UAA's Kayla Fry finished third.
Adde used a blazing first run to set the foundation for his win, establishing a lead of .9 seconds over UAA's Niko Harmanen on his way to a two-run total of 1:27.75. Harmanen finished second at 1:28.77, with Christopher Kollenborg (1:28.96) taking third to round out the podium.
Lightly falling snow diminished visibility some, but relatively good light, firm snow on the race trail, and moderating temperatures made for good races.
The FIS slalom series concludes Sunday.
