Pick.Click.Give. Launches Alaska's Most Comprehensive Nonprofit Clearinghouse

New Website Features Information and Stories from Over 400 Alaska Nonprofits

ANCHORAGE – December 14, 2012 – The Pick.Click.Give. Charitable Contributions Program launched a new website this week that is the state's largest site focused on the Alaska nonprofit sector. The new website, www.pickclickgive.org, features in-depth information on the more than 400 organizations eligible for 2013 contributions. It also features stories from both donors and organizations about the impact of Pick.Click.Give. in Alaska.

Specific features of the new website include sections for Donor Stories and Success Stories. An Ambassador Toolkit provides a variety of features supporters can use to share Pick.Click.Give. information through social media. The expanded Search Organizations section makes it easier to learn about eligible nonprofits and provides links to each group's website and contact information. Like the previous website, there are direct links to the state's PFD website, as well as a blog and news release sections.

"We are excited to offer the largest source of information about the good work happening in Alaska's nonprofit sector," said Pick.Click.Give. Program Manager Heather Beaty. "People want to know how their donations are making a difference, so the new website features real stories of how Pick.Click.Give. gifts are being used to help Alaskans across the state."

In 2012, more than 23,000 Alaskans pledged more than 37,000 gifts totaling more than $2.2 million through Pick.Click.Give. Currently, only about 4 percent of the people who receive a PFD choose to give through Pick.Click.Give.

Alaskans will be able use Pick.Click.Give. to donate portions of their 2013 Permanent Fund Dividends beginning January 1, 2013. The PFD filing period runs through March 31, 2013.
