South Anchorage residents may be interested to know that public access to the Service High swimming pool is being eliminated. The pool will no longer be available to the general public for open swimming or lap swimming, unlike all the other pools in town, which are still open to the public.
The stated reason for eliminating public access to the pool is lack of interest by us, the public. I am not convinced that is the case. So, South Anchorage, if you want to keep the Service pool available for you and your kids, now is the time to speak up. Send your Assembly member a message, or better yet, send a note to John Rodda, Parks and Recreation Director, at email@example.com.
They built it for us and we are not coming. Let them know you want to come so we can keep the pool open.
