Deployed Alaska troops to receive 1,000 calling cards from Cell Phones for Soldiers drive
WHO: Deployed JBER and Alaska National Guard service members
WHAT: Wells Fargo and its Alaska Veterans Team Member Network will present Alaska military command leaders with 1,000 60-minute calling cards for deployed Alaska troops.
The calling cards are the result of a statewide Cell Phones for Soldiers drive in November at all 49 Wells Fargo banking stores in Alaska. Wells Fargo customers and team members donated 760 cell phones that were recycled. Proceeds from the recycling were used to purchase the prepaid international calling cards.

WHY: "Each year we have been humbled by the amount of people and organizations like Wells Fargo that take the initiative to support our troops," said Cell Phones for Soldiers co-founder Brittany Bergquist. "We want to continue to mend the communication gap between our armed forces and their loved ones as troops continue to serve our county."
