Teen girl injured in gunfire at East Anchorage home

Police say an unknown suspect or suspects fired gunshots at an East Anchorage home early Saturday, injuring a teenage girl sleeping inside.

It was about 2:45 a.m. Saturday when someone called 911 to report multiple shots had been fired at a home in the 1500 block of Hoyt Street, police spokeswoman Dani Myren said. A 15-year-old girl was struck once in the leg, Myren said. Medics rushed the girl to a hospital for treatment.

Officers are now looking for a suspect or suspects thought to have been driving a white SUV. Myren said anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 786-8900 or Crime Stoppers at 561-STOP.
