Letter: Alaska was like North Dakota

History-history-history, anybody who has been living in Alaska since 1970 must have laughed at the article about North Dakota's oil boom. High wages, no women, scarce living space, prostitution, drugs, loose morals — just substitute Anchorage, Valdez or Fairbanks for North Dakota and you have an article from the ADN from our own pipeline days.

However, I bet those yahoos don't set up a Permanent Fund or get the cut of oil profits the magnitude of Alaska's. I don't really miss those Okies and Texans but I'd do it all over again if I could — for sure!
