Assembly chair schedules another hearing on Title 21

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Anchorage Assembly Chair Ernie Hall announces that the January 29, 2013 public hearing on Title 21 will be open for people who have not yet testified. Although it was anticipated that the public hearing on Title 21 would be finished and closed on Tuesday, January 22, a number of people indicated they have not been able to testify and Assembly Chair Hall has decided to allow additional testimony.

A number of items on the January 29, 2013 Regular Assembly agenda are time critical and must be addressed on January 29, 2013 in order to appear on the April 2, 2013 Municipal Election ballot. Assembly Chair Hall will ask the Assembly to take up these items first and start the Title 21 public hearings (Items 13.A. and 13.B. on the agenda) after these time sensitive items are finished. lt is estimated that Title 21 testimony will begin no earlier than 8:00 p.m. Sign-up sheets that will determine the order of public testimony will be available.

To allow for the most time for people to testify on Title 21, the Chair of the Assembly will ask that the public hearings on the Government Hill Neighborhood Plan and the Historic Preservation Plan (Items 14.P. and 14.Q., AO 2013-11 and AO 2013-12) be postponed until Tuesday, February 12, 2013, to provide those wishing to testify on these two plans adequate time to address the Assembly. The work session on the Government Hill Neighborhood Plan is still scheduled for Friday, January 25, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at City HaIl, 632, W. 6th Avenue, Assembly Conference Room, Suite 155.
