Celtic pride
Irish singer, songwriter, comedian and author Seamus Kennedy has been visiting Alaska for more than 20 years, and his current string of shows throughout the state will benefit the Elks Lodge, St. Pat's Church and Knights of Columbus. Double trouble
Singers-songwriters and expert instrumentalists Peter Mulvey (guitar) and Tony Furtado (banjo) share the stage for a couple performances. The first is 7 p.m. Wednesday at Vagabond Blues in Palmer. Winding down
The Anchorage Folk Festival comes to a close this weekend, with the main stage at Wendy Williamson hosting dozens of performances, plus headliners Cahalen Morrison and Eli West, 7-10 p.m. Friday, 12:45-6 p.m. and 7-10:15 p.m. Saturday, 1-5 p.m. and 7-10:30 p.m. Sunday, free. Mechanical magic
Watch acrobatic feats and curious contraptions as the Cirque Mechanics troupe presents "Birdhouse Factory." Among the spectacles are a contortionist performing on a turntable powered by unicyclists and trapeze and trampoline performers testing gravity.
