Dustin Fritz stopped 25 shots Thursday night, including 15 in the second period, and Kirby Graff broke a scoreless tie midway through the third period to lift Service to a 2-0 upset of Dimond in a Cook Inlet Conference boys semifinal at the McDonald Center in Eagle River.

Dimond beat Service, 7-1 and 6-1 in the regular season.

Fritz kept the game scoreless with his strong second period.

"That's when he stood on his head,'' said Service coach Joel Carter.

Graff scored the game-winning goal on a power play, backhanding home a rebound of a Miles Giorgione shot from the left wing. Andrew Cummings also assisted on the goal. Michael Stephens clinched victory when he scored an even-strength goal off helpers from Brad Kuper and Luke Cooley with 69 seconds remaining.
