Hokanson rules women

Sarah Hokanson won the duathlon at Sunday's Ski For Women, claiming a 23.7-second win over Megan Fink in the 8-kilometer event at Kincaid Park.

Jenny Kimball took the 4-K freestyle race and Mellie Park won the 4-K classic.

The annual event attracted about 1,250 women and girls.

Smith, Trujillo take wins

Ben Smith and Anna Trujillo set the pace in the freestyle division of Saturday's Ski for Relief, a 6-kilometer cross country race that raised nearly $2,500 for medical relief efforts in war-torn areas of Burma,

Smith, of Eagle River, was the overall winner in 18 minutes, 44 seconds. Trujillo, of Grace Christian, was first among women and second overall in 19:01.

John Cosgrave and Claire Trujillo, both of Grace Christian, topped the classic division, with Cosgrave clocking 22:11 and Trujillo 23:03.
