HOMER – Homer Council on the Arts has honored Era Alaska with its Business Art Patron Award for Era’s exemplary community service and support of the arts. Era’s Homer Station Manager Julie Davis was at the HCOA annual meeting and celebration Friday, January 25 to accept the award.

Homer Council on the Arts President Diane Borgman said, “Era Alaska is a true friend of the arts in Alaska. They are a great business that is connecting Alaska and making it a better place to live. We appreciate their efforts in our community and are pleased to be able to show our appreciation.”

“We are humbled by this recognition,” said Steve Smith, Director of Sales and Marketing for Era. “We take great pride in being a part of the communities we serve and supporting the Homer Council on the Arts is a true pleasure.”

HOCA is the local arts agency serving thecommunities of Kachemak Bay and the Lower Kenai Peninsula. It is a membership-based organization that is an advocate for The Arts in community life. It offers programs in arts education and sponsors a variety of public events such as concerts, plays, gallery exhibits, talent shows and craft fairs.

The group’s annual meeting is an opportunity to reflect on the year’s accomplishments and celebrate with food and music as well as to celebrate with the people and organizations that help make the organization successful.
