10 professional women inducted into Anchorage ATHENA Society

The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2013 inductees into the ATHENA Society, which honors people who have encouraged women in the community to succeed in business.

The 10 honorees are Renee Haag, owner of Blaine's Art Supply; Caroline Higgins, project and logistics manager at Totem Ocean Trailer Express; Annie Holt, chief executive of Alaska Regional Hospital; Nance Larsen, communications manager for Pebble Partnership; Dr. Cheryl Myers, owner of South Anchorage Physical Therapy; Beth Nordlund, executive director of the Anchorage Park Foundation; Deborah Smith, U.S. District Court magistrate judge; Julie Varee, development manager of Best Beginnings; Pat Walsh, chief executive of Walsh Sheppard; and Candace Winkler, president and chief executive of the Alaska Community Foundation.

The 10 women will be recognized for professional excellence and community involvement at the 19th Annual Anchorage ATHENA Society luncheon, from noon to 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 25, at the Dena'ina Convention Center.

Anchorage ATHENA Society is a program of the Chamber and the local chapter of ATHENA International. There are more than 240 members of the Anchorage ATHENA Society to date.
