Watch for a Boeing 727 airliner in the skies over Merrill Field on Tuesday.
The plane that FedEx is donating to the University of Alaska Anchorage is scheduled to do one or two flyovers, then land at the city-owned airport at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The public can watch it from the Northway Mall parking lot, said UAA spokeswoman Kristin DeSmith.
UAA will also offer tours of the plane to local media.
The plane will no longer fly, but will be used in UAA and UAF aviation maintenance programs. Its home will be the UAA Aviation Technology Center at Merrill Field.
The plane first flew on Feb. 14, 1979.
