GIRLS BASKETBALL
Bartlett 39, Service 23
Nadine Fraker scored 12 points Thursday to help the Bartlett girls glide past Service 39-23 in a CIC basketball game at Service High.
Sarah Johnson added 10 points for the Golden Bears, who led 25-12 at halftime. Bartlett finished in solo second with an 11-3 CIC record.
"The girls from Service did a good job of playing hard the whole game," Bartlett coach Steve Stansbury said.
Service's Alyssa Nanez led all scorers with 14 points. The Cougars (0-14) failed to win a game this season, but improved with each outing, Service coach Cortney Edwards said.
"It was a rebuilding year," he said. "They should be pretty good next year."
West 81, Eagle River 39
West's Chanel Bookert erupted for 31 points and Shiccia Harris-Grant pumped in 20 to power an 81-39 CIC girls basketball win over visiting Eagle River on Thursday.
Alistie Aguilar chipped in 11 points for the Eagles, who finished the regular season with a 10-4 record. Aguilar and Bookert also sparked the West defense with seven steals apiece.
Dana Panfil deposited 13 for Eagle River (2-12).
East 65, South 46
East's Taria Page pumped in 25 points and Togafiti Manu reeled in 10 rebounds to lead the Thunderbirds to a 65-46 CIC girls basketball win on Senior Night at East High.
Brielle Johnson chipped in 11 points for East, with Mafi Makihele adding 10.
Taylor Murray led South with 20 points.
BOYS BASKETBALL
West 60, Eagle River 57
Hugh Geary scored West's first eight points Thursday night, sparking a 60-57 Cook Inlet Conference boys basketball win over visiting Eagle River.
Markiss Ailey posted 18 points and eight points for the Eagles.
Shaquan Rhoades notched 17 for Eagle River, with Thomas Jones adding 16.
Dimond 68, Chugiak 48
Payton Lauwers led the attack for the Dimond boys basketball team on Senior Night, scoring 18 points in a 68-48 CIC win over visiting Chugiak.
Damon Cikanek came up with 16 points for the Lynx, Stanson Afoa added 10 and Austin Torrance kicked in eight.
Skyler Fullmer drilled three 3-poitners on his way to 19 points for Chugiak, with Payton Fullmer recording 11.
East 80, South 58
Three players reached double-digit point totals for East on Thursday and the Thunderbirds picked up an 80-58 CIC win over visiting South.
Jarred Laws racked a team-high 24 points for East, which used a 26-13 run in the second quarter to take control. Xavier Johnson contributed 16 points and Austin Huss hit for 11. The Thunderbirds all shot well from the free-throw line, combining to sink 21of 25 foul shots.
South's Louis Page dominated the paint and led all scorers with 26 points.
Final CIC tournament seedings
Dates and times for the first-round games in the CIC tournament will be determined Friday during a selection ceremony at West High at 4:30 p.m., the the pairings and seedings will be as follows:
