Letter: Governor, fully fund schools

I cannot understand why the governor has not fully funded the state's public schools and on the other hand wants to reduce the oil tax for the oil companies without any commitment for increasing oil production. Oil production has been steadily declining since 1988, long before our current oil tax system, initiated in 2007, known as ACES. The oil companies are making billions of dollars in Alaska under ACES.

I would like to respectfully request the governor and legislators consider raising the student allocation and retaining our current oil tax system. Please keep in mind our children are our most precious asset and the oil belongs to the citizens of Alaska and not the oil companies or their stockholders.
