Where are the best hot wings in Anchorage? Fill out your bracket

In the spirit of March Madness, Play Magazine's selection committee has organized its second search for the best hot wings in Anchorage. The Peanut Farm was named the King of Wings back in 2009, but the playing field has changed since then, with a new recruiting class that includes some blue chips (Buffalo Wild Wings) and some dark horses (Hood Wings).

Four years later, is Peanut Farm still Lord of the Wings?

As for the selection process, we limited the field to an elite eight. We gave preference to restaurants that specialize in chicken wings rather than those that include wings as a small part of a much bigger menu. Basically, if the word "wings" is included in the restaurant's name, it's in. Of course, Peanut Farm is here to defend its title, and Straight Out of Philly was awarded our at-large bid.

The Play staff will be sampling and comparing wings from each place for the next couple weeks, but in the meantime, vote for who you think should advance. Voting requires registration with Upickem, and we'll select a registered voter at random at the end of the voting process to receive a $20 gift certificate to use at the hot wings joint of his or her choosing.

See the bracket and choose your favorites here. Voting for the first round closes Thursday, so check back then to see who advances and vote again for your favorites in the second round.

Should Moose's Tooth have made it to the field of eight instead of Straight Out of Philly? Anyone else left in the cold? Let us know in the comments who was snubbed by the selection committee.
