The writer who stated, “the library’s biggest customer is the city Assembly,” must never have gone upstairs. That’s where they keep the books, you know, and that’s where you can always see scores of people reading, searching, studying, and checking out books and video materials.
Just take a look at the number of cars in the main parking lot. And if you don’t think some improvement needs to be done, pick an icy winter day and try to get from that parking lot up the steps and across the crumbling upper deck to the entry doors, especially if you are shepherding a child or two.
