Letter: Violence Act could work in villages

Everyone should have equal rights under the law, including homosexuals and transgender people. The Violence Against Women Act does that. Alaska wants to be excluded from it because it is really difficult to enforce laws in Alaska Native villages.

So I think that these laws for the same rights should be put on the books, but let each village submit to the state for any modifications or adaptations to the Violence Against Women Act.
