Letter: Assembly right with union stand

Thank you to the people who put taxpayers first and will try to keep the city from bankruptcy in the near future. Look at some states and cities (Stockton, etc.) that taxed to the max but went broke trying to meet outrageous pay and benefits previously given. The union workers lost in the end as they lost jobs and benefits.

For the officials who voted with the unions due to campaign contributions rather than the majority of their constituents, I hope this is remembered at the ballot box. Hopefully everyone will benefit from fiscally sound economic policies to better the entire community and not just a small minority.

Look at the states growing in these tough times; it is not in areas giving in to excessive demands and closed shops.
