UIC wins school renovations contract in Point Lay

UIC CONSTRUCTION LLC WINS CONTRACT FOR KALI SCHOOL MAJOR FACILITY RENOVATIONS - POINT LAY, ALASKA

Anchorage, Alaska (March 26, 2013) – The North Slope Borough announced that UIC Construction, LLC was awarded a $7.1 million contract to perform major renovations to the Kali K-12 School in Point Lay, Alaska. The work will include replacement of worn interior exterior finishes, code-compliance upgrades, replacement of the existing swimming pool, and mechanical and electrical upgrades.

Pre-construction work has begun on the 40,730 square foot school, which will be completed in three phases, allowing school activities to continue throughout the entire renovation project. The scheduled completion date is October 31, 2013.

The project will provide local employment opportunities for Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation shareholders. UIC Construction, LLC (UICC) is one of four construction companies of the holding company UIC Construction Services (UICCS); Kautaq Construction, LLC; Rockford Corporation; and SIKU Construction, LLC. Ukpeagvik Iñupiat Corporation is the Alaska Native village corporation of Barrow, Alaska.
