Letter: Big Oil seems to be the major constituent for many lawmakers

I just listened to Senator Wielechowski's eloquent and compelling analysis of Senate Bill 21. I did not realize how heavily invested "Big Oil" is in the Alaska Legislature. It looks like government of the oil companies, by the oil companies, and for the oil companies.

What this Senate Bill proposes is a shameless looting of the resources that belong to the Alaskan people. These oil executives are fiscal sociopaths who will be smirking all the way to the bank, if this bill passes. They don't want a fair share; in their game they want all the shares. The vote on Senate Bill 21 will define these legislators. They will be representatives for the Alaskan people or a surrogate for the oil companies, period!
